Caris LeVert underwent surgery today for a stress fracture of his foot. The surgery was a success and LeVert is expected to return to action in 8 to 10 weeks, according to a statement from John Beilein.

“Caris underwent surgery today for a stress fracture of his foot at the University of Michigan hospital,” Beilein said in a statement released Monday evening. “He is doing well and we expect him to make a full recovery in about 8 to 10 weeks. We are confident he will participate in our late summer training and play in our August trip to Europe.”

LeVert averaged 12.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game last season and is regarded as Michigan’s top returning player. LeVert was invited to the Kevin Durant Skills Academy, which is scheduled for June 27th through 29th, but is likely unable to be fit to participate.
