There’s more to coaching college basketball than X’s and O’s, but the ability to draw up offense and defense in game situations is still critical.

I tasked Gibson Pyper — who broke down Michigan’s X’s and O’s on the site all season — to evaluate several candidates who have been linked or connected to Michigan’s open coaching position based on their X’s and O’s ability.

Pyper summarized each coach’s philosophy on offense and defense, graded their X’s and O’s performance and shared some key film and sets.
