I’ve had a soft spot for McDaniel for a while (since I was watching Terrance Williams film last summer) and think he’s going to be a really good player but Trimble is the better roster fit right now overall I’d say. I don’t think there’s a big enough gap that you would tell one of the two no in order to take the other, though.

I think you start with Jett Howard, Seth Trimble, Ty Rodgers and Donovan Clingan. That is sort of the baseline “realistic ideal class” as things sit right now.

If you can land those four, you can start to be choosey and take some risks. I’m a big fan of Eric Dailey whenever I’ve watched IMG but really have no idea what is up or down in his recruitment. Lively would also be a great icing on the cake guy with his upside but there is heavy competition. Feels like AJ Casey could be U-M’s best bet at a top-25/five-star type kid in the class.

There will also probably be prospects we are talking about in two months that we aren’t now. Recruiting shifts (and shifts fast) if you think back to last year no one was talking about Frankie Collins or Moussa Diabate in May but they were in the class a couple of months later.

Not very well of late  It’s a balance between coming up with something just to do it and coming up with something that (I hope) is quality (like the 21 Thoughts pieces). Sometimes it is easy to get dragged into just producing something when really what people want is something good. Struggle is that you sometimes spend a lot of time on something and no one really cares because it is May or June.

Recruiting really helps though, especially with how Juwan has been recruiting.

It is much more dependent on what is happening. So engagement picks up when recruiting picks up or transfer stuff picks up, etc. It is far more event driven than the consistent nature of things in season.

It was great. Some much needed time to recharge on the beach.

No I’m not surprised that all of the assistants contracts were renewed. I think Martelli has brought a ton to the staff. He’s consistently one of the first coaches you hear recruits talk about and has clear value there. Juwan has praised his role on the staff over and over. He’s incredibly experienced.

I’m not sure what more you could really expect to get out of an assistant spot.

    Take a deep breath.

If you insist I answer your question, I’d say to poach someone off of a roster via the portal or (more likely) go for some kind of reclass. Otherwise let it ride.

But I would be very surprised if Hunter isn’t back.
