Throughout his three-game run as Michigan’s acting head coach, Phil Martelli has heaped endless praise upon assistant coach Howard Eisley.
That affirmation reached a new level Tuesday night when, after a convincing victory over Michigan State, Martelli waxed poetic, claiming that Eisley “called a flawless offensive game” and “pitched a perfect game tonight.”
Told of Martelli’s comments Wednesday afternoon, Eisley quickly deflected the recognition.
“Calling a flawless game, I’m not quite sure what that means,” Eisley said. “Our guys really did a good job of executing the offense, executing their sets. We were able to get the ball where we needed to get it. Hunter (Dickinson) did the rest.”
