Michigan hosts Northwood tonight (7:00 p.m., BTN-Plus) in its only public tune-up game before Tuesday’s season opener.
The Wolverines won their secret scrimmage against Marquette, but we still don’t know much about this new-look roster. They’ll face a Northwood program picked to finish last in the G-MAC this year and lost a preseason game at Central Michigan, 81-55, last month. As far as exhibition tests go, this is far from the most difficult.
For Michigan, it’s a preview of a team facing its lowest expectations in years. The Wolverines were picked 11th in the Big Ten with a roster that lost a couple of pros and will be counting on newcomers to make outsized impacts.
