Michigan’s head coaching search will enter the unknown during the second half of the week: the NCAA Tournament, the four-day period during which some coaches will become available and some will become national stars.
Some common names are popping up at the top of hot boards across the industry, but it is still early to have a real idea of where this search is headed.
In that case, we thought it would be useful to poll a national audience of writers, personalities and other smart basketball people for who they think Michigan should hire and why. The idea was to get a wide-ranging set of viewpoints that cover recruiting, X’s and O’s, the national landscape as a whole, and more.
The panel includes Jordan Sperber, CJ Moore, Kevin Sweeney, Jim Root, Will Warren, Jordan Majewski and Gibson Pyper. To clarify, these panelists were all asked to give their thoughts on what they would do, not what they think is likely to happen or who is the most realistic candidate.
