The 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup tipped off today in Switzerland, and both Michigan players opened the event with victories.
Incoming transfer big man Morez Johnson Jr. posted a double-double off the bench in an opening group stage win for Team USA. The Americans knocked off Australia, 88-73, and Johnson finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks, and two steals in 26 minutes.
Redshirt freshman Oscar Goodman posted 9 points and three rebounds in 20 minutes in New Zealand’s 77-72 win over Argentina.
