Over the last few years, we’ve borrowed an idea from Adam Jardy of the Columbus Dispatch to roll out our season preview player profiles in a power-ranking format. We’ll preview every player on the roster while ranking them by some arbitrary combination of ability, importance, and role.
We’re bringing the same thing back this season. I ranked each scholarship player (1 through 13) based on their expected impact on the 2025-26 season, and we’ll dive into each player in-depth as we near tip-off. This approach is more straightforward than a position-by-position preview because those often get bogged down in a debate about each player’s position rather than their importance and role on the roster.
Today, we look at freshman shooter Winters Grady.
Previously: No. 11 Oscar Goodman, No. 12 Malick Kordel, and No. 13 Ricky Liburd
No. 10 Winters Grady
#10 | 6-6, 210 pounds | Freshman | Wing
Grady is a 6-foot-6 freshman who graded out as a consensus top-100 recruit in the 2025 class, and No. 59 overall according to the Rivals Industry Ranking.
His prep and grassroots careers have shown steady development from a shooter to a scorer. As a junior at Prolific Prep, he played a complementary role as five-star prospects AJ Dybantsa and Tyran Stokes dominated the ball.
As his game matured and his opportunities evolved, he showed a lot more scoring pop. He became the alpha for Jalen Green Elite, averaging 19.5 points per game on the Adidas circuit, and playing much more on the ball than he had in the past.
He still played with a five-star as a senior at Prolific Prep (Kansas guard Darryn Peterson), but Grady was far more involved in the offense, averaging 16.1 points per game and showing his growth as an all-around player.
