Michigan heads to Las Vegas next week for the second-annual Players Era Festival. The Wolverines will face San Diego State (10:30 p.m., Monday) and Auburn (8:30 p.m., Tuesday) in the highest-profile multi-team event in college basketball this season.
Here’s what to watch for, and what we can learn about Michigan in Las Vegas.
A loaded field
The Players Era Festival is the biggest multi-team event ever, and the field is loaded — featuring nine teams in the KenPom top 25 and all 18 in the top 100.

Michigan’s first two opponents — San Diego State at 36th and Auburn at 23rd — are roughly in the middle of the pack, but if Michigan plays well in its opening games, it is likely to face an elite opponent in the third game.
Multiple teams participating in the event are capable of making a Final Four run or winning their conferences this season. Any team that gets out of Las Vegas with two or three wins will probably feel great about itself and have some nice quadrant one wins on its team sheet before Thanksgiving.
