Michigan will look to shake off its holiday rust tonight when it welcomes McNeese to the Crisler Center (7:00 p.m., BTN-Plus).
The Cowboys are 10-2 and ranked 64th by KenPom under first-year head coach Bill Armstrong. Armstrong takes over for Will Wade after Wade’s move to NC State. Armstrong is a longtime confidant of Wade and worked with him at LSU before Armstrong was fired for cause—though later cleared—during the NCAA investigation.
After LSU, Armstrong was the head coach at Link Academy, where he coached Michigan point guard Elliot Cadeau to a 27-1 season and the GEICO National Championship.
McNeese hasn’t played a game since December 15th, and its best wins are over George Washington, Murray State, and at Rhode Island, with road losses to Santa Clara and Incarnate Word.
