Michigan hosts Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon (1:00 p.m., CBS) for a rematch of last year’s Big Ten Tournament Championship.
The Badgers have sputtered this season and enter this weekend’s game at 10-5 (2-2 Big Ten) and ranked 43rd on KenPom, but they are coming off arguably their best win of the season at home over UCLA.
They don’t have any bad losses, but they haven’t knocked off a top-35 team this season. Their best wins are over UCLA, Northwestern, and Providence, while their losses to BYU, Purdue, Villanova, Nebraska, and TCU came by an average of 19 points per game.
The Badgers
There are many stylistic similarities between this year’s Wisconsin team and last year’s, but less overall talent has rendered the operation less potent.
Wisconsin’s offense — for better or worse — revolves around the 3-point shot. The Badgers attempt half of their shots from 3-point range (16th) but shoot just 32.6% from deep (222nd), and 27.1% (17th) in Big Ten games, which leads to a volatile style of play.
