Michigan wraps up its trip to the Pacific Northwest on Saturday (4:00 p.m., NBC) against Oregon.
The Ducks are 8-9 (1-5 Big Ten), have lost nine of their last 13 games, and have one top-100 win, yet it seems like their season is about to take a turn for the worse.
Jackson Shelstad has missed the last four games with a right-hand injury and wants to play, but “can’t dribble or shoot,” per Dana Altman. More importantly, starting big man Nate Bittle injured his foot against Nebraska and is undergoing an MRI. According to Altman, he’s expected to miss time even if the test results are positive.
The Ducks were billed as a two-man team with questionable depth headed into the season, and now could be left without those two stars while trying to pull their way out of a 1-5 start in Big Ten play.
