Michigan takes its eight-game winning streak on the road tonight against Northwestern (8:30 p.m., BTN) with a chance to extend its Big Ten lead to two games.
The Wildcats are one of the best bad teams in the country. They are just 10-14 (2-11 Big Ten) on the season but ranked 68th nationally per KenPom, over 50 spots ahead of the next-best 14-loss team (Southern Illinois).
Chris Collins has succeeded in mucking things up against Dusty May’s teams in the past. His Northwestern squad beat Florida Atlantic in the 2024 NCAA Tournament to help May on his way to Michigan, and Northwestern gave Michigan everything it could handle in an overtime game in Ann Arbor last year.
This team isn’t as talented as either of those squads, but it has one of the best individual scorers in the conference in Nick Martinelli and is coming off a competitive loss at Iowa on Sunday.
