2025-26 Season

Report Card: Michigan at Northwestern

Report Card is a new UM Hoops+ feature that grades Michigan’s performance by going far beyond the box score. We pair shot quality, shot-making, and on/off impact with film-driven insights to uncover the trends shaping each game.

Report Card is part of UM Hoops+, our new premium offering that features exclusive video breakdowns, live in-game charts, and data-driven analysis. Learn more about UM Hoops+ and upgrade here. We also added the new shot chart tool for Plus subscribers this week.

Michigan survived a scare in Evanston this week, coming back from 16 points down in the second half to win by 12. It was a topsy-turvy affair that had some different top performers than usual, with LJ Cason taking home KenPom MVP honors.

In this week’s report card, we dive into what didn’t work early, how Michigan was able to come back, and what lineup combination we saw more of than at any point in the season.
