Michigan freshman big man Malick Kordel is headed to the transfer portal after one year in Ann Arbor.
Kordel was an under-the-radar prospect from Germany who grew up playing handball before pivoting to basketball. He never cracked the rotation but played a role closing out blowout games with the scout team.
Kordel finished the year 8-of-14 from the floor and saw action in 14 games.
He’s the second Wolverine to enter the transfer portal after Winters Grady hit the portal on Wednesday night. The Wolverines also added a commitment from Tennessee big man JP Estrella out of the portal on Thursday.

I’m pretty sure this is who Dusty was talking about with the agent a couple weeks ago
He needs to get on the court to improve. he should go down a level or two and then try to move up as he improves

Go be great Malick! I hope you are thunder dunking on some poor 180 pound 7 footers next year.

Honestly? Kind of a bummer. Kid was absolutely massive and those don’t grow on trees.
That said, maybe he was ready 2 years from now? Maybe never? Lost on a lottery ticket. Ah well.
