Once again, Michigan took the court for a game that was supposed to be its most difficult test of the season. Once again, the Wolverines turned it into a laugher before the second media timeout in the second half.
Michigan rattled off an 8-0 run to open the second half and Minnesota looked ready to head back to Willow Run. The Wolverines’ six-point halftime lead ballooned all the way to 37 points left the scout team to clean up the mess.
In a normal year, this sort of performance would be remembered as one of a team’s best all season. For this Michigan team, the whole thing felt surprisingly routine. The Wolverines bottled up Minnesota’s best players, fed Hunter Dickinson early and often for another career-high and scored over 1.19 points per possession for the third consecutive game.
