The most important things John Beilein said ahead of Nebraska at Michigan

John Beilein met with reporters on Wednesday afternoon ahead of Thursday’s Senior Night game, when Michigan will host Nebraska for the final home game of the season.

Here are the most important things he had to say (and why they matter).

Nebraska brings unique challenges

“They steal the ball. They’re getting seven steals a game. They have really — they have length, they play the 1-3-1 10% of the time. That’s always a challenge for everybody because I think we’ve only seen it maybe a couple of times this year. There’s that. They’re an excellent defensive transition team. Like Michigan State, they’re one of the better ones. Same thing on offense. Their offensive transition is really good, too.”

Why it matters: Every Big Ten win matters for Michigan right now. Just one game out of first place in the conference, it’s important for the Wolverines to take care of business at home on Thursday evening. With Nebraska playing some zone on defense, Michigan’s up-and-down offense, particularly its shooters like Jordan Poole, will be needed to get the win.
