College basketball coaches will take to gyms across the country this weekend for the first live evaluation period of the offseason.
Here’s a look at what to expect from the Michigan staff on the trail and what impact the latest changes to the recruiting calendar will have on Michigan’s approach.
1. What impact will the new recruiting calendar have?
In recent years, there have been two three-day evaluation periods in April, but that’s not the case in 2019. Due to significant changes to the NCAA recruiting calendar, this weekend is the only opportunity in April for coaches to evaluate prospects at live events.
The three major shoe circuit events are spread across the country this weekend and should draw much of the attention. Adidas will be in Dallas, Nike will be in Atlanta and Under Armour will be in Kansas City.
