2019-20 Season

Game 18: Penn State at Michigan Preview

Michigan is at home for back-to-back games for the first time since December. Playing at home will be a welcome reprieve for a Wolverine team that is 0-5 on the road, but it also puts the pressure back on. The Wolverines haven’t been able to steal a road win in conference play, which means it is imperative to defend the Crisler Center. In a league where home teams are 43-9, making up ground on the road is going to be difficult.

Enter Penn State (7:00 p.m, BTN). It is year nine for Pat Chambers, and he has a great chance to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time at Penn State. The Nittany Lions are 13-5 (3-4 Big Ten) on the season with solid wins over Georgetown (away), Syracuse (neutral), Maryland, Alabama, Iowa, and Ohio State. They are just 3-4 in league play, but similar to Michigan that is largely a product of one of the more difficult conference slates up to this point.
