2020-21 Season

Wisconsin set to provide Michigan with toughest test yet

For weeks, as Michigan’s schedule has gradually grown more difficult, the Wolverines have passed each test with flying colors.

Their first KenPom top-100 opponent, UCF, was beaten by 22 points. Impressive performances followed against Penn State and Maryland — the first top-50 opponents. Then, on Wednesday, Michigan destroyed No. 23 Minnesota, 82-57, in its best game of the season.

Tuesday, though, brings a different type of test. Wisconsin comes to Ann Arbor ranked ninth in the AP Poll and fifth in KenPom. The Badgers, who start five seniors, have top-10 units in adjusted efficiency on both sides of the ball.

“Wisconsin, as we all know, throughout this season, has shown that they are one of the elite teams in NCAA basketball and also one of the elite teams in the Big Ten,” Michigan coach Juwan Howard said. “It’s going to be a very competitive game. Expecting a very well-coached team to come out and compete.”
