Michigan bounced back with a blowout win over Maryland on Tuesday night.
As expected, Maryland brought an aggressive enough double team to nullify Hunter Dickinson (3 points and an assist), but the freshman center handled the pressure after struggling at Minnesota. Rather than forcing passes into tight areas, Dickinson kicked the ball out to the perimeter and allowed his teammates to reverse it.
The combination of Michigan’s poise and Maryland’s defensive coverage resulted in a barrage of open threes. Playing in their home gym, the Wolverines shot the Terps out of the game. Michigan made its first five 3-pointers and finished 12-of-24 from 3-point range en route to an efficient 1.25 points per possession.
