The question for Michigan’s offense on Saturday afternoon was always who would get open looks rather than if the offense could generate open shots. The Wolverines had no problem running their offense, they just had to decide who to dial up.
Juwan Howard’s team didn’t play its best game of the season and its win in Bloomington felt exceptionally mundane. Never perfect but always in control, the Wolverines led by 9 or more points throughout the second half and kept the game comfortably at arm’s length.
Michigan looked like a team following a plan that it knew would work. Indiana looked like a team searching for something that might work. A team with its sights on playing its way to April against a team that looks ready for the season to end in March.
