Video: Juwan Howard, Bryon Smith preview inaugural Coaches vs. Racism event

Juwan Howard and Byron Smith joined a Zoom call this afternoon to discuss the inaugural Coaches vs. Racism game in Washington D.C. Howard’s Michigan program will take on Smith’s Prairie View A&M squad that ran the table in the SWAC regular season last year.

This is the first Coaches vs. Racism game and the event matches up HBCU schools with high-major programs at neutral sites. Michigan and Prairie View A&M’s weekend in Washington D.C. will also include educational opportunities related to SEERS (Systemic Racism, Equality, Economic Divide, Reform and Social Injustice. The two head coaches were joined on the call by CVR Executive Director Darryl Woods, who provided background on the event.

Thank you put posting this. I’m watching it on my laptop right now as I type these words. I love the concept of “Coaches vs Racism.” It is so important in the world in which we live. I am so proud that Michigan and Coach Howard are such an integral part of this inaugural event, and that the university and Juwan were chosen to represent something that is so important in our world. I hope we all feel that pride and real admiration for these outstanding men, Coach Howard and Coach Smith.
