North Carolina guard Caleb Love announced his commitment to Michigan today.
Love is the second former McDonald’s All-American to commit to Juwan Howard out of the transfer portal this summer, joining Nimari Burnett and Tray Jackson as transfer additions. The Wolverines are looking to rebuild the core of their roster after the departures of Kobe Bufkin, Hunter Dickinson and Jett Howard.
Love has had an enigmatic three years at North Carolina. He was the hero of UNC’s run to the National Championship game in 2022 but featured at the forefront of this year’s disappointing season that led to the Tar Heels missing the NCAA Tournament.
Love averaged 16.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game as a junior. He shot 46% on twos and 30% on threes for the season. He made 200 3-pointers in three years at North Carolina but is just a 32% career shooter from outside.
Here’s a full breakdown of the 6-foot-4 junior, an assessment of his game, and how he fits in Ann Arbor.
