Michigan is a No. 1 seed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament and will play the winner of UMBC and Howard in the first round in Buffalo, NY.
The game will tip at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday and be broadcast by CBS with Brian Anderson, Jim Jackson, and Allie Laforce on the call.
If Michigan advances, it would play the winner of Georgia and Saint Louis. The Wolverines will be fighting to advance to the Midwest regional semifinals and finals in Chicago, Illinois.
No. 2 Iowa State, No. 3 Virginia, No. 4 Alabama, and No. 5 Texas Tech are the other top seeds in the region.
This is Michigan’s first No. 1 seed since the 2020-21 NCAA tournament, when the Wolverines advanced to the Elite Eight.
It’s Dusty May’s second NCAA Tournament appearance in two years at Michigan, with the Wolverines reaching the Sweet Sixteen in his first season. Including Florida Atlantic, May has reached four consecutive NCAA Tournaments, including a Final Four run in 2022-23.
