Michigan is headed overseas this summer to play three exhibition games in Lithuania and Croatia. The Wolevrines will face the Lithuania national team, the Lithuania B team, and Mega Superbet.
They’ll be overseas from August 21st through August 29th, with games on the 23rd, 24th, and 27th.
“Any time you can get a group together in the summer and actually play games, it’s huge,” Dusty May said in a statement. “This trip gives us the chance to compete, learn, and spend time together before starting the fall semester. On top of that, they’ll get to experience basketball in a different part of the world, which is pretty special.”
It’s Michigan’s first international tirp since 2022 and the trip will provide the Wolverines with 10 extra offseason practices in addition to the three games.
Here’s the full Michigan release:
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — University of Michigan David and Meredith Kaplan Men’s Basketball Head Coach Dusty May announced Monday (May 18) that the Wolverines will participate in a foreign tour of Lithuania and Croatia this August.
During the nine-day trip (Aug. 21-29) with Complete Sports Management, Michigan is scheduled to play three exhibition games while also taking part in cultural and team-building activities throughout Lithuania and Croatia.
“Any time you can get a group together in the summer and actually play games, it’s huge,” said May. “This trip gives us the chance to compete, learn, and spend time together before starting the fall semester. On top of that, they’ll get to experience basketball in a different part of the world, which is pretty special.”
Funded by private supporters through the U-M Athletic Development department, the Maize and Blue will embark on the program’s fourth foreign tour, following trips to Belgium (2010), Italy (2014), Spain (2018) and France/Greece (2022).
The summer tour provides an opportunity for additional preseason practice time and international competition. The trip will also allow Michigan 10 extra preseason practices ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Additional information, including game times and coverage details, will be announced as it becomes available. Fans can follow the Wolverines throughout the trip on MGoBlue.com and through U-M basketball social media channels.

This makes me sad that we never got to see Yax goofin around in Lithuania and Croatia. Surely would’ve been tremendous content.

Brad Underwood just saw this announcement and is furiously scheduling a trip to the Balkan countries so he’ll have a sole pipeline to the Balkan players.
