Class of 2027 Recruiting Hot Board

Class of 2027 recruiting is starting to hit its stride, with the NBPA Top 100 Camp wrapping up and the July grassroots action around the corner. The Wolverines have handed out several new scholarship offers in recent weeks, and the recruiting board is beginning to take shape.

That means it’s time to debut the 2027 hot board and start tracking key targets.

Class Needs

What Michigan needs out of the 2027 class is hard to say. On the one hand, it’s the perfect opportunity to build recruiting momentum coming off a National Championship run. On the other hand, the Wolverines have 14 scholarship players on the 2026-27 roster and — assuming five-in-five legislation is passed — all 14 could be eligible to return the following season. Not to mention, seven of those players have freshman eligibility and have never played in a college game.

The five-in-five rule could also lead to a loaded transfer class, and one heavy on graduate transfers that Michigan is capable of recruiting despite its academic limitations.

The days of planning for the future in college basketball recruiting are long gone, but it is as difficult as ever to assess what Michigan’s roster looks like when the 2027 class shows up on campus next summer.

Hot Board

Here’s a roundup of the 2027 recruits linked to Michigan, including brief updates on their recruitment, visits, next steps, and a recent highlight reel. As always, this is an unofficial, living document that will receive updates in the days, weeks and months to come.

We’ll be updating this regularly throughout the summer and fall as more visits are scheduled, lists are trimmed, and commitments begin.

As always, we’ve grouped prospects into four primary categories:

  • Heating Up: Prospects with serious mutual interest. Usually, they have scheduled a visit to Michigan or included it on a notable list of finalists.
  • In the Mix: Mutual interest, including talk of a potential visit or recent momentum.
  • On the Radar: Players who have offers or have been in contact with Michigan but haven’t trimmed their list or shown significant interest.
  • Gone Cold/Previously Linked: Prospects who Michigan offered but appear to be focused on other finalists.
