Michigan faces the Lithuanian National Team today at 12:30 p.m. Eastern in its first of three overseas exhibitions.
The Lithuanians have rotated squads over the past week, with the top squad losing in overtime to Estonia, the reserve squad beating Arizona, and a mix of the top and reserve squads losing to Arizona. Today, the Wolverines are expected to face the top Lithuanian group — led by former Arizona star Ąžuolas Tubelis –in a final tune-up for their World Cup Qualifying game against Turkey. While Tubelis is in the mix, most of Lithuania’s top EuroLeague and NBA players are not currently with the squad.
The Wolverines will also face Lithuania’s reserve team on Monday (11:30 am) before facing Mega Superbet on Thursday in Dubrovnik. The two games in Lithuania are expected to be streamed, and you can watch today’s game below.

Pretty cool to watch this today when you think about the last time Michigan played they won a national championship. Also cool to see the new team play against some stiff competition.

Assuming Tubelis plays… a fascinating test for Michigan’s frontcourt. Guy was a dominant college player .. four years ago. He is extremely left-hand reliant, but hard to stop.

So theoretically this Lithuanian team is better than either version Arizona played?

That’s the expectation based on what the coach said yesterday. Have to see who actually suits up.
Arizona played the reserve team (which Michigan faces tomorrow) and a split squad (only one A team starter).
The expectation from what I understand is that the team Michigan faces will look like the group that lost to Estonia and plays Turkey next week:
Here’s that full box score
And for a comp, here’s the group Arizona beat yesterday:
