Q7 The final play

Lamar, what did you see on that final play? Can you take me through it?

Oh man, we had the play set up and I mean, it was a couple guys on the bench. We didn't want to give the play away, but we knew it was going to Yaxel Lendeborg. We didn't know it was going to Yaxel Lendeborg like that. And so when he, you know, when a play broke down and we still found a way to execute and make the right read and right pass.

I mean, this is a testament of what we practiced all season, but also a testament to Yaxel Lendeborg and being ready for the moment. I was going to say, you're a guy who has the ball in his hands Elliot Cadeau did not shoot the ball.

Q8 Elliot Cadeau's decision on the last pass

A lot of guards would. He took his time and made the right pass. What can you say about that?

That shows his IQ and shows that it's all about winning. And he proved that right there, playing the right way at any time of the game. The biggest moment of this Big Ten tournament thus far. He made the right pass, made the right read, and got it to another big-time player's hands.

Thanks. Second year in a row that you guys have won the Big Ten tournament semi in the final second. Just what have you appreciated about the Big Ten tournament magic you guys have found the last couple of years? Yeah, it's a little bit of magic.

You know, God is definitely on our side, but we're super grateful to be here for one. And then the other thing about it is, I mean, we love tournament-style playing. We love playing every day. We love basketball in general.

I think Dusty May is a big part of that, just telling us to enjoy the game. Like when we practice, we're not drilling all the time. We're just having fun playing basketball. That kind of brings you back to being a little kid.

And so this Big Ten tournament and tournament-style basketball is what we love to do.

Q9 Yaxel Lendeborg finds his rhythm

Yaxel Lendeborg struggled today going offensively yesterday and even in the first half today. So just how special was it for for him to be the guy to really find his rhythm again and then knock down the shot to win it.

I was so happy for him. Like, you know, that mindset and that thought process as a basketball player, so many thoughts go through your head and you're not playing well and it's like, what do I need to do? You're overthinking. And just being in the moment and finding a way to finish the game off strong. He had a big input into the game the second half, so I was super happy for him that he got over that little hump.
