Yaxel Lendeborg reacts to win at Illinois

Oh man, yeah, super exciting. Uh, I just heard a stat that— all right, I have an eye over here, please. I just heard a stat that's like it's only been outright champions like 5 times in like 40 years, something like that. So hearing that was ridiculous.

Um, I knew this team was good, but I didn't know we were that good, you know. So, uh, super excited, super happy we got to accomplish this first goal, and we got 2 more goals to accomplish coming up.

Man, uh, we felt like we're the best team in the country. We let you slip, but we still 100% think that we are the best team. So, uh, we're gonna continue to show that every night. And, uh, you know, today was just a stepping stone, you know, to keep building and keep showing everybody that we're the most connected group and we're the best team.

yeah, when I, when I decided to come back to school, that was one of the main things I wanted to showcase. I tried my best today just to show that I can, you know, full-court press, guard up and down without showing any fatigue, you know. And that's just something that comes with versatility and my hard work and, you know, just the will, the mindset to want to do that.

Yaxel Lendeborg, when did you realize that this team had what it takes to win the Big Ten? Man, I would— after Vegas. Everything comes back to Vegas, honestly. Uh, after that happened and just seeing how connected we were, it's like, how could we be stopped, you know?

Um, obviously we talked about this team up scenario, but you know, we're super connected, super unselfish group, guys that love each other and want the best for each other. So it carries on the court.
