Q2 Holding them to zero fast breaks
I think you guys held them to zero fast-break points. Was there something you did differently in practice? Was there a different approach or was it just drilling it hard?
I think just drilling it. I think with how deep our roster is, we get a really good live look with both of our first units and our second units. I tell everybody, yeah, we got the number 3, number 1 team in the country, but our second unit is as good as them. So we get really good live reps during practices and it's just as many live games as possible. If we can defend ourselves, it's a lot easier when it comes to other people.
Q7 Being ranked No. 1 on Monday
They lost today. I guess how important or what would that mean to you if you guys are number 1 on Monday?
It's funny, I've never been number 1 in anything in my life, so I just feel like it's a great accomplishment, but I feel like it's important for our guys also not to look at it as, you know, we're the best and you can't like slack off. I feel like we got to prepare the same way that got us to this point. You know, as there are also highs, there are also lows.
We can't go in there thinking we peaked in December. We got to be able to still build and climb all the way up to March. Roddy, what are you looking for when you're pushing in transition? It feels like if no one picks you up, you keep going all the way.
I mean, that's just the beauty of having guys who draw so much attention. 9, 7-foot-whatever at the rim and, you know, shooters spaced out. So I feel like if they don't stop ball, then that's just a free lane for me to be able to go to the rim and be able to generate offense. Not only for myself but for my teammates as well.
So I think that's a big point in our offense. If our guys are able to rebound down, we're just off to the races and I feel like we got so many weapons.
Q9 Morez Johnson setting the tone
Trey, you finished in double figures, but Morez sort of led the way and felt like he set the tone early, I guess.
What does he mean for this group? I feel like we go as far as Morez takes us. I feel like he's our junkyard dog.
