Q1 Emotions before first real game
You guys began working on coming together as a team, probably what, in June? And this is your first time, a real game. Describe what your emotions are today coming to a team that you played in the tournament and kind of celebrating last year's championship here today. And starting, embarking on something new?
Yeah, I mean, I'm super excited. Obviously, I was on the other side of the court last year, and now I'm just super excited to be a part of it, being part of another winning culture. Honestly, I'm just super pumped to just play with this group of guys. I feel like this group of guys is very special.
I feel like this is a group that can do the exact same thing that last year's group did. And I feel like we keep doing what we're doing. I feel like we're gonna have a great trajectory and just keep getting better and better every day.
Q3 Last year's defensive standard
What was the key to the defense being as good as it was? I mean, are you aware of How good Michigan was defensively last year?
Is there a standard, I guess? Yeah, there's definitely a standard. I mean, last year's team defensively was ridiculous. I mean, they were just super good and we're trying to live up to that.
I feel like we still got, we still got a long way to go in every aspect, but I feel like we're going in the right direction. I feel like we're just going to keep growing from each game and I feel like defensively is something that we're definitely going to get better at throughout the year.
Q6 Clunky stretches and missed threes
Felt like there were 2 stretches maybe where it was a little clunky, early second half and then middle of the first half. But other than that, did the offense execute pretty well even though you didn't make a lot of threes?
Yeah, I thought offensively we did great. Obviously we didn't make a lot of shots. But I wouldn't take back any shot that we shot. I mean, I thought all the shots were great shots.
Not every night is going to be like this. There's going to be nights where we make 70% of 3s. I mean, I feel like we're going to keep growing in that aspect. Not every night is going to be perfect offensively, but I can't complain because we just got great shots the whole night.
