Four-star wing Jordan Barnett picks Texas

IMG_4658[1]Class of 2014 wing forward Jordan Barnett verbally committed to the University of Texas this afternoon.

Barnett also considered scholarship offers from Florida, Kansas State, Michigan State, Oklahoma State and Stanford. The St. Louis native was regarded as a top-100 prospect nationally by ESPN and Rivals.

Michigan had not offered Barnett a scholarship but evaluated him closely throughout July after he took an unofficial visit to Michigan in June. Barnett is the second combo forward prospect to fall of Michigan’s recruiting board after Kevon Looney dropped the Wolverines from his list on Wednesday evening.

The Wolverines have standing scholarship offers to Devin Booker, Kameron Chatman, Trevon Bluiett and Vince Edwards. Ypsilanti power forward Jaylen Johnson has been on the Wolverines radar throughout the summer and could emerge as a target with two combo forward targets off the board.
