MILWAUKEE — Michigan defeated Texas 79-65  in the round of 32 to move on to the Sweet Sixteen for the second straight year.

The Wolverines were white-hot in the first half and for a while it looked like they would run away with this one. The 13-point lead at halftime belied a dominant stanza of basketball for Michigan.

But in the second half, Texas came back on the strength of its offensive rebounding and strong zone defense. The Longhorns rebounded over half of their misses in the game and were grabbing every miss in sight. Texas cut the deficit to six points midway through the second half, but it would never get closer than that.

Michigan found just enough offense to seal the game down the stretch, with key contributions from Glenn Robinson III, Jordan Morgan and Caris LeVert late in the game to keep the Longhorns at bay.

After a couple of fairly dominant performances in Milwaukee, Michigan will continue its season next week in Indianapolis on Friday against either Mercer or Tennessee.
