Michigan will face Texas A&M on Thursday night (7:37 p.m., TBS) for a trip to its first Elite Eight since 2014. The Aggies advanced to the Sweet 16 with a blowout upset win over North Carolina on Sunday night.
This will sound like revisionist history (I swear it isn’t), but when the brackets where unveiled on Selection Sunday I thought that Texas A&M looked like a team that matched up really well with North Carolina. I also thought that the Aggies were a better matchup for Michigan than the Tar Heels.
Still to come
- Elite size, but mismatches go both ways
- Average ball screen defense
- Lack of perimeter playmaking
- Expect some zone looks
- 3-point gap in effect
