Cole Bajema spent July establishing himself as a rising name amongst the class of 2019.
When Michigan first contacted Bajema, he was an unknown commodity. Even two weeks ago, when he last spoke to UM Hoops, the guard held offers from only Eastern Washington, San Francisco and Santa Clara. Since then, he’s added Virginia, Xavier, Washington, Oregon State, San Diego and UC Santa Barbara to his portfolio— with interest from Louisville, Utah and Gonzaga — on the back of strong performances in California and Las Vegas.
“I thought I performed pretty well,” Bajema told UM Hoops on Tuesday night. “I got a lot of coaches’ attention. I mean, I think a lot of other coaches took notice, since Coach (John) Beilein was there, they’re like, ‘Ok, this kid must be pretty legit.’ So then, got a lot more coaches started showing up to the game.”
