After playing 35 minutes against Northwestern on Sunday evening, accumulating 17 points, 11 rebounds, three steals, two blocks, and committing zero fouls, there’s no better time to take a closer look at Jon Teske’s ascension this season.
If Zavier Simpson is the quarterback of Michigan’s defense, Teske is its anchor. According to Big Ten Network, an anonymous head coach indicated that Teske is, “the best pick and roll defender in our league.”
Teske’s development and emergence has been instrumental to Michigan’s perfect start to the season. He is able to shoulder heavy minutes while leaving his imprint on many parts of the game.
