Matchups set for 2019 Battle 4 Atlantis, Michigan to face Iowa State

Michigan will open the Battle 4 Atlantis against Iowa State.

The Wolverines and Cyclones will tip at noon eastern on November 27th on ESPN. Michigan will face either North Carolina or Alabama in the second round of the tournament with Gonzaga, Seton Hall, Oregon or Southern Miss in the third round.

The Wolverines released the rest of their non-conference schedule on Wednesday. Overall, Michigan should play one of the more difficult non-conference schedules in the country.

Awesome not to draw Southern Miss in the first round and to be on the opposite side of the bracket.

Yep, should be able to win at least one game against ISU or Bama.

I would do just about anything to keep Michigan out of the last place game… which would presumably be against Southern Miss and tip at 10pm on the Friday night before Michigan/Ohio State.

This tournament could end up sending seven of the eight to the NCAA tournament with Michigan (new coach Juwan Howard), Oregon, Iowa State and Alabama (new coach Nate Oats) entering the season with a legit shot to make a run for a bid.

Wow, this majorly undersells Michigan considering the run we’ll be making is for a national title, not just a bid. With Franz can we beat this year’s Cleveland Cavs? I think it would be closer than most would imagine. Probably a back and forth “last possession wins” affair.
