What we learned about Franz Wagner at FIBA U18 Euros

Franz Wagner represented Germany at the FIBA U18 European Championships over the last week in Greece.

Germany went 3-4 and finished in 11th place in the event. Wagner averaged 13 points, five rebounds and two assists per game over six contests.

He got off to a slow start with his national team. He was limited to just 16 minutes per game over the first two games of the event due to foul trouble against Serbia and an injury against Turkey. He sat out against Great Britain due to the back injury before returning in bracket play to average 16 points and 24 minutes per game over the final four contests.

Here are some thoughts on Wagner’s performance, strengths and weaknesses, video, and what a full week of action says about his fit in Ann Arbor.
