The recruiting calendar moved into a recruiting period on Monday which means that college coaches are on the road across the country to conduct in-home visits and watch workouts. These visits are an opportunity to reinforce the vision that Michigan’s staff sold on official visits and to prioritize new targets.
The fall recruiting period is also when things start to accelerate. The early signing period is just two months away in November and dominoes will begin to fall over the next few weeks. Visits are scheduled and canceled, lists are cut, announcements are scheduled and commitments have ripple effects on other recruitments.
Every school has an expansive recruiting board in July but by October the picture becomes more focused.
