The further Juwan Howard drifts from television cameras, the more comfortable he becomes when discussing his new program. While he didn’t share much in his morning press conference, he was open and honest discussing his team, his practices, and his philosophy on Wednesday afternoon during a breakout session.
Howard sat for nearly an hour and shared his early impressions of his team in his most in-depth discussion with the media to date. Here’s what we learned from the new Michigan head coach.
Franz Wagner will be a factor
Juwan Howard didn’t hold back when he was asked about freshman wing Franz Wagner.
“Franz is talented. He’s been a huge pick up for us,” Howard said. “In my opinion, if Franz lived in the United States he would be equivalent to what today’s players are rated as a five-star.”
