2019-20 Season

Game 11: Oregon at Michigan Preview

Michigan and Oregon’s paths didn’t cross in the Bahamas, but they’ll meet at the Crisler Center on Saturday afternoon (noon, CBS). The tilt will be the first non-conference matchup between top-10 teams at the Crisler Center since Juwan Howard was on Michigan’s roster in a 1993 loss to Duke.

Oregon arrives in Ann Arbor with a 7-2 record, dropping a pair of games at Atlantis to Gonzaga and North Carolina, two teams that Michigan beat. The Ducks have quality wins over Memphis, Houston, and Seton Hall, and they are one of two teams expected to contend for the Pac 12 Championship this year.

Dana Altman is one of the most underrated coaches in college basketball with four trips to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament in the last seven years, including a Final Four berth in 2017. He has a senior point guard who is one of the best in the country and plays a unique matchup zone defense that can be tough for opponents to crack.
