2019-20 Season

Game 22: Ohio State at Michigan Recap

Michigan lost its third straight home game in another loss that came down to the final possession. The Buckeyes walked out of the building with a hard-fought 61-58 win that was ironically decided by a flagrant foul call.

The game’s first 39 minutes were a bloodbath that will be useful when the NCAA needs to put together a Weekly Whistles feature on a re-emphasis on freedom of movement next season. Hip checks, grabs, hand checks, and contact around the basket were frequent on both ends of the floor.

The final minute was defined by a video review flagrant foul by Zavier Simpson as he was being fouled on a shot attempt to give Michigan the lead with 33 seconds to play.

It was fitting for a game that featured more missed 2-point shots (41) than personal fouls (28) but no consolation for a Michigan team that continues to search for momentum.
