Michigan is playing its best basketball since November and picked up a second consecutive 20+ point victory on Sunday afternoon.
The Wolverines played one of their most efficient offensive games of the season, scoring an impressive 1.38 points per possession. Five Michigan players reached double figures as U-M coasted to a stress-free 89-65 victory.
Since January 27th, Michigan is 5-1 and is playing as well as any team in the country. Bart Torvik’s useful but dangerous split tool reports that the Wolverines are the 4th best team in college basketball during that timespan.
The Wolverines are a bit of late-game drama away from being a legitimate contender in the conference race. Still, a second-half ankle injury scare to Isaiah Livers served as a reminder of just how fragile this season is.
