Isaiah Livers is coming back for his senior season.
In the end, this was really the only decision that made sense despite a global pandemic. It was clear that Livers wasn’t going to be drafted and his chances of landing a guaranteed contract were long. He went into the season with the intention of declaring for the NBA Draft and stuck to his plans.
I don’t think there’s any doubt that he was ready to be a pro and would have leaped at the opportunity if it was available, but his health was an obstacle that was almost impossible to overcome without any in-person evaluation. Livers needed to play his way into the conversation and you can’t accomplish that with a series of Zoom calls.
