2020-21 Season

Game 5: Toledo at Michigan Recap

There’s no doubt that Michigan is ready for its next challenge. That test was supposed to come tonight against NC State, but instead, the Crisler Center hosted one final tune-up game.

The Wolverines put together their best 40-minute stretch of the regular season on both ends of the court, but we’ve now seen U-M play 205 minutes this season against teams with significant talent deficits. Enough is enough.

Michigan has faced the best that the MAC has to offer, but it is time to level up, and there are no more Toledos or Bowling Greens on the schedule. The Wolverines haven’t faced a top-75 opponent this year, but 19 games of the 20 games remaining are against top-75 teams, and more difficult tests are coming as soon as Sunday.

Michigan played a great game on Wednesday night, but all it really told us is that it is time to enter the next phase of the season.
