2020-21 Season

Five takeaways from Michigan’s loss at Minnesota

For months, all Michigan had done was win. And for months, a single question grew: What can go wrong for this Wolverines team?

Saturday we found out.

It started with a pregame announcement that Eli Brooks would miss the game with a foot injury and ended with an 18-point loss to Minnesota.

In totality, Michigan’s first loss of the season provided reality for an idea that was always intuitively understood: This team is not impervious to the eb and flow of a college basketball season.

“We always look at it as one game at a time,” Michigan coach Juwan Howard said. “This loss, you learn from it.”
