Michigan will face No. 4 seed Florida State in a rare Sunday Sweet 16 matchup from Bankers Life Fieldhouse at 5 p.m. on CBS. The Wolverines are a 4-point favorite, per KenPom, against a Seminole team that has been up and down this season.
Florida State dropped a game to UCF in the non-conference and lost three of its last five games entering the NCAA Tournament, but is still one of the deepest and most talented teams in college basketball. Ranked 13th by KenPom, Leonard Hamilton’s group outscored ACC opposition by 13.9 points per 100 possessions with the best offense and the No. 4 defense in the conference.
The ACC wasn’t particularly special this year, and the Noles lost on a league title because they played two fewer games than Virginia. Still, the efficiency margin numbers imply that they were the class of the league.
What will Michigan be up against? Here’s our first look at the Seminoles as we enter a week of previews and analysis.
