Chaundee Brown to enter NBA Draft, won’t use extra year of eligibility

Michigan senior wing Chaundee Brown announced today that he would enter the NBA Draft and hire an agent, forgoing his final remaining year of eligibility.

Brown spent one season at Michigan after transferring from Wake Forest last summer. He served primarily as Michigan’s sixth man and averaged 8 points and 3.1 rebounds in 19.9 minutes per game. Brown made 7-of-12 threes in the NCAA Tournament and provided an infectious lift of energy and defense off the bench.

Brown joins Mike Smith as seniors who have opted to move on from Michigan despite the NCAA granting an extra year of eligibility to all players due to COVID-19. The Wolverines are still waiting on decisions from Eli Brooks and Austin Davis.

The Wolverines are also awaiting NBA Draft decisions. Isaiah Livers underwent surgery on his foot but is expected to pursue professional opportunities. Franz Wagner is projected as a lottery pick in the 2021 NBA Draft but hasn’t announced his intentions for the future. Hunter Dickinson isn’t projected as a first-round pick but was one of the best freshmen in the country and could evaluate his options as well.

I will always remember Chaundee for his clutch ORebs. He was a perfect fit for this team and we would not hang a banner without him.

Troy Weaver loves high motors and long wingspans. So hopefully we see him on the Pistons Summer League roster.
