Michigan landed its point guard of the future on Thursday evening, which meant that I spent the weekend in the film room. I broke down seven of Dug McDaniel’s recent games from the spring circuit. That included games against Donovan Clingan, Emoni Bates, Jalen Duren, Dereck Lively, Jaden Bradley, DJ Wagner, and a host of other high-major prospects.
I already had a feel for McDaniel’s game, but I hadn’t watched any of his recent games in full. Breaking down a nice sample size of games helps paint a clearer picture of how McDaniel’s game has grown and how he might fare at Michigan.
